Sarah McKinnon

MBA Student; University of Michigan's Ross School of Business

After graduating from Northwestern University with a degree in journalism and political science in 2008, Sarah Kurtz McKinnon took a less-traditional path: she became the director of YMCA Camp Al-Gon-Quian, a children’s summer camp in Northern Michigan.  She served in that role for six years and gained hands-on management experience in an extremely positive environment—one where the ultimate goal was improving kids’ lives.  Sarah left the Y in 2015 to start a consulting business, Kurtz McKinnon Creative LLC.  In this capacity, she brings the lessons and positivity of camp to organizations across the country.  She is also a sought-after consultant and trainer for camps and youth programs.
Sarah is an evening MBA student at the University of Michigan and has a strong research interest Positive Organizational Scholarship.  In her spare time, she enjoys art, tennis and exploring Michigan with her husband, Robert, and their two Brittany Spaniels.  You can follow her blog at www.kurtzmckinnoncreative.com/blog.
