Dr. Johanna Clancy is an Assistant Professor in Business Enterprise at J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics, University of Galway, Ireland, where she leads on the school’s commitment as a signatory to the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME). Johanna has over 15 years teaching experience, predominantly in the academic environment, but also in corporate settings. She teaches primarily in the areas of social entrepreneurship and responsible management at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, designing and delivering modules with innovative, award-winning teaching methods. She has recently received the University President’s Award for Teaching Excellence (2024) and the President’s Award for Societal Impact (2022). Johanna is an advisor and volunteer in Ireland’s social enterprise ecosystem, and is currently non-executive director of SCCUL Enterprises, having served five years as Chairperson. She has been successful in attracting national and EU funding as part of this role.
