Electric utility companies have been at the forefront of the sustainable development challenge. This case describes Detroit Edison’s sustainability strategies in transforming its fossil generation assets. This case complements existing cases on the development of renewable energy sources by describing transition strategies and merits and costs of displacement and transition strategies.
