Yolanda Sarason

Yolanda Sarason is an associate professor of entrepreneurship and strategic management at Colorado State University’s College of Business. Her research area focuses on social and sustainable entrepreneurship and the development of theoretical perspectives in entrepreneurship and strategic management. Her current research stream involves investigating social enterprises in emerging economies. Professor Sarason was a Fulbright Scholar in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2015-2016.
Her research has appeared in “The Journal of Business Venturing,” “The Journal of High Technology Management,” and “The International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Small Business”. Professor Sarason teaches in the entrepreneurship program and has taught the graduate and undergraduate strategic management capstone courses. Teaching experiences also include entrepreneurship at Foreign Trade University in Hanoi, Vietnam and strategic management in Quito, Ecuador and Caen, France. Professor Sarason has been an active member the President’s Commission on the Status of Women as well as an advisor to the Entrepreneurship Institute at CSU. Professor Sarason received her undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico and earned her MBA and doctorate from the University of Colorado. Prior to her academic career, she worked in a number of start-up ventures as well as a family-owned business. Along the path her extended family, including her now grown children, has been a constant source of help and support.
