Sumit Mitra does research in the areas of entrepreneurship, especially social entrepreneurship. In this he tries to bring in a strategic perspective both a macro social environment and micro social enterprise level. He adopts the case based research and pedagogical approach. With over fifteen years of both international and Indian teaching experience, his other areas of interest within the discipline of strategic management, are in International Business, Corporate Governance and industry clusters. He holds an engineering degree and a PhD in Management form Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad.
