Lisa Jones Christensen (Ph.D., University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill), is an Associate Professor of Management at the Marriott School at Brigham Young University. Her research focuses on entrepreneurship and social innovation in extreme contexts (including BoP contexts), with an emphasis on female founders, trauma, and resilience. She also has a stream of research on costly CSR and the paradox of “authentic” CSR. She is currently researching the human capital implications of vulnerability, working with refugees, immigrants, and the formerly incarcerated to understand post-traumatic growth. Her work can be found in Strategic Management Journal, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Business & Society, among other journals. Dr. Jones Christensen received her MBA and Master of International Relations from Brigham Young University and her B.A. from University of California at Berkeley. Prior to academia, she worked in Silicon Valley in Business Development and co-founded a non-profit focused on building economic self-reliance and social entrepreneurs in Base-of-the-Pyramid contexts.
