This case describes the challenges hotel managers face in making major decisions, such as opening a hotel to the public or penetrating a new market. Joselito Villa manages the University Hotel, which he plans to open to the general public. Just when he thought everything was set, he experienced problems with employee attrition, customer satisfaction, and system quality. Students examine the hotel’s occupancy statistics, human resources, and customer survey results as they propose recommendations for solving the problematic issues.
