Trissanne L. Keen

Ph.D. Candidate in Business Administration (Strategy)

University of Michigan's Ross School of Business

Trissanne Keen is a Ph.D. candidate in Strategy at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. Her research examines how firms navigate the promises and pitfalls of the global energy transition, with a focus on the electric vehicle and lithium-ion battery ecosystem. Integrating micro-level analyses of stakeholder perceptions with macro-level studies of firm strategy and industrial policy, her work sheds light on how companies manage competing pressures in emerging sustainable industries and the global critical-minerals supply chains that underpin them.

Before joining Ross, Trissanne was a Research Economist in the Executive Office of the Governor of Florida. She was the lead analyst for forecasting state revenues for transportation tax sources. Preceding her role as a Research Economist, she was a  Florida Gubernatorial Fellow working in the Office of Policy and Budget with the team managing $8.3B  in COVID-19 Relief Funds. Trissanne graduated summa cum laude from Florida State University, receiving a Bachelor’s and Master of Science degree in Finance. She was also a recipient of the United States David L. Boren Awards,  receiving full funding to study Akan Twi in Ghana, West Africa, where she also interned with non-profit organizations on a microfinance initiative supporting women and a project aimed at combating child labor and human trafficking in rural fishing communities.
